GIVE Ltd Awarded RBF Grant under Kenya Off-grid Solar Access Project (KOSAP) Facility Financed by The World Bank

Green Innovation Ventures Enterprises Ltd(GIVE Ltd) is among 13 other firms awarded  under  Kenya Off-grid Solar Access Project (KOSAP) facility, a flagship project of the Ministry of Energy, financed by the World Bank .  KOSAP is extending financing to the selected companies as part of the Government of Kenya’s efforts to achieve universal access to electricity by 2026 as per the Kenya National Electrification Strategy. About 1.3 million people in 14 counties will be linked to solar energy under a Sh390 million World Bank facility that targets to light up areas not on the national grid. GIVE Ltd  operations will be focused  in 4 counties of the Coast region of Kenya. 

This project, which is modelled to support private sector players to establish viable businesses in the underserved Counties, is an optimal option and a key plank in meeting our electrification goals throughout Kenya, so that no one is left behind,” Energy Principal Secretary Gordon Kihalangwa said.

New MOU signed with SNV Netherlands

Green Innovation has today signed an MOU with SNV- Netherlands Development Organization to  support Marketing activities related to Productive Use leveraging Solar Energy(PULSE) in Kakuma, Kalobeyei and surrounding host communities.
The MOU is complementary to the activities that we are already carrying out in Turkana County. The partnership will help to accelerate our sales engagement by reaching a wider audience, strengthening our brand, and creating awareness about our products and services.

IFC-Supported KKCF Business Competition Announces Winners to Drive Development in Kenya’s Kakuma Refugee Hosting Area

Announcing the investees the IFC Regional Director for Eastern Africa Mr Jumoke Jagun-Dokunmu congratulated the winning companies among them Green Innovation Ventures Enterprises Ltd and remarked that the companies have a strong potential to not just uplift the lives of refugees and host communities in the Kakuma and Kalobeyei area, but also positively impact those living in the greater Turkana County,” He added that the IFC is committed to supporting development in challenging environments and show support in highlighting sustainable private sector solutions to help marginalized and vulnerable groups.

Few early-stage, innovative tech start-ups in A2E and SM have access to the kind of consistent, good quality support they needed to gain access to necessary funding. 30% of A2E and SM applicant start-ups reported only having access to high-cost support.

Green Innovation Ventures Enterprises Ltd is delighted and honored to be awarded and among this year’s investees under the Private Sector window of the KKCF program by the World Bank IFC – International Finance Corporation and AECF. The Kakuma Kalobeyei Challenge Fund (KKCF) is a program of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), implemented with Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund, Turkana County Government, and UNHCR. The five-year program is designed to support private sector investment and unlock the economic potential of refugees and their hosts, in Kenya’s Turkana County.Our project in Turkana will involve Productive Use Leveraging Solar Energy, facilitated by our inhouse EaaS software PowerPay.

Seedstars and Shell Foundation Investment Readiness Program 2021

In March 2021 Green Innovation Ventures Enterprises Ltd was honored to be among the 20 companies   in Africa that were selected to join the Investment Readiness Program by Seedstars and Shell Foundation. Additionally, each of the startups was carefully paired with a mentor that they met with regularly 1on1 for three months to work on the biggest issues providing barriers to each startups’ growth.The result of these activities were 20 African startups prepared and ready to receive investment.

MBEA II SNV Project 2021

Green Innovation Ventures Enterprises Ltd received an extended mandate and scope from SNV Netherlands Development Organization to start providing Productive Use Leveraging Solar Energy services to businesses in Kakuma, Kalobeyei and the hosting communities in Turkana through the EaaS  model as well as continue distributing solar home systems on a PAYgo model .The  project runs up to December 2021.
